Nilesh “Niel” Papaiya, OD
Dr. Papaiya was born and raised in Northvale, NJ and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rutgers College of Rutgers University. He received a Doctorate in Optometry at Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Papaiya has taken three courses on optometric practice management to further his management skills and an intensive management and marketing program designed specifically for optometrists by Williams Group. Dr. Papaiya is licensed by the New Jersey and New York State Boards of Optometry and is a proud member of the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Papaiya has been involved with the optometric industry for last 10 years. He was employed as a ophthalmic laboratory technician from 2000 by Lenscrafters in Bridgewater, NJ and at the Lenscrafters Eye Center in Bridgewater, NJ. Clinical experience includes a three month internship at the Omni Eye Services in Rochelle Park, NJ, a three month internship at the Liva Eye Care Center in Ridgewood, NJ, a three month internship at the Cornea and Lasik Eye Institute in Teaneck, NJ, a three month internship at Pennsylvania College of Optometry in the department of pediatrics and emergency eyecare in Philadelphia, PA, and a five month externship at Upland Eye Care in Upland, CA. Dr. Papaiya currently works part time at Wise Vision and Hearing in Hoboken, NJ as he embarks on opening his own practice in Edgewater and fulfilling his lifelong dream of helping people with their vision care.
Dr. Papaiya lives in Fort Lee, NJ. When he is not dedicated in patient’s vision well-being, he loves to spend time with family and friends, traveling and watching and playing various sports such as football and basketball. He is a die-hard Buffalo Bills fans and his heart bleeds orange and blue for the Orangemen, New York Knicks, and New York Mets.
